For garment manufacturers and exporters

Your buyer split one order into 8 colourways and moved the date forward.

Cutting and stitching you can schedule by the hour. Garment printing is the step that decides whether the shipment leaves on the committed date. Axis puts DTF, TPU label, embroidery and flocking capacity inside your own unit, so the sample goes back to the buyer the same day and the bulk runs to your production plan.

Orders got smaller. Designs got more. The dates got shorter. Everyone who decorates fabric in India is being asked to do the same work in smaller lots, with more design changes, on tighter dates, at last year's price. Most floors are running equipment that was built for the opposite of that.

Why do garment manufacturers bring printing in-house?

Garment manufacturers in India bring decoration in-house for 3 reasons: sample turnaround, schedule control and the shortage of skilled hand-work labour. A DTF line takes artwork straight from a file to a transfer with no screen, no plate and no setup cost per design, which suits the short colourway-heavy orders that now dominate both domestic and export buying. Axis Enterprises supplies DTF printers, TPU and PU label printers, digital embroidery and flocking machines priced from 3 lakh to 16 lakh, installs them at your unit, runs sampling on your own fabric and artwork before handover, and dispatches an engineer within 24 to 48 hours from a 48-person team across 11 cities, with live phone and video support during working hours before anybody travels.

Where the shipment actually slips

What stops a garment unit from taking the bigger order?

4 blocks. Manufacturers name the first one before we finish the question.

BLOCK 1

The hands

In the words of one factory owner: it is very difficult to get skilled labour, and even when we get it, they cannot do enough production, so we are unable to take big export orders.

BLOCK 2

The sample

The buyer wants 3 options in 2 days. The unit that answers first sets the reference sample, and the reference sample usually decides who gets the bulk.

BLOCK 3

The date

Your merchandiser committed a shipping date to the buyer. Every step inside your walls can be pushed by an hour. The steps outside cannot.

BLOCK 4

The inspection

A crack after wash, a hard hand feel or a colour that shifts costs you the piece, the rework and the date at final inspection. It also costs the repeat order, which is the expensive part.

Where the market is going

Is the shift to short runs permanent?

The published numbers say yes. Demand is growing faster than the average floor is adding capacity, and the growth is arriving in small lots.

USD 2.7 billion

Global direct to film printing market in 2024, forecast to reach USD 3.9 billion by 2030 at a 6.0% CAGR, according to Grand View Research.

9.75% CAGR

India's custom t-shirt printing market grew to USD 176.6 million in 2025 and is projected to reach USD 407.9 million by 2034, per IMARC Group.

USD 225 billion

India's domestic textile and apparel market in 2025, projected at USD 350 billion by 2030, with over 45 million people employed in the sector, per IBEF, February 2026.

A market compounding at 9.75% a year while your capacity stays flat does not wait for you. The volume goes to whoever can answer first, and it usually stays there.

Useful whether you buy from us or not

What should you test before you approve a print for an export order?

Test on your own base fabric, at your own wash conditions. A supplier's sample proves the supplier's fabric, not yours.

1. Wash cyclesRun the buyer's stated wash count at the buyer's stated temperature. Check after every 5 cycles, not only at the end.
2. Crack on stretchStretch a knit print across the grain and along it. Rib and lycra blends fail differently from a woven.
3. Hand feelGet the merchandiser and the buyer's QA to feel it. Hand feel is subjective, so settle it before bulk, in writing.
4. Colour fastnessRubbing dry and wet, plus light if the garment is outerwear. Record the grade, do not describe it.
5. Base fabric GSMThe same transfer behaves differently on 140 GSM single jersey and 280 GSM fleece. Test every base in the order.
6. Press windowTemperature, time and pressure. Write the window into your SOP so the second operator gets the first operator's result.
7. Repeatability across the bulkPull pieces from the start, middle and end of a run. Consistency across 2000 pieces is a different claim from quality on 1 piece.
Reset your buying criteria

How should a manufacturer compare 2 machine quotes?

Your risk is not the purchase price. Your risk is a missed shipment. Compare in that order.

1. Sampling before paymentWill they print your artwork on your fabric at your press window before you release the balance? Insist on it.
2. Consistency across a bulk runAsk to see the first and the last piece of a long run, not a single showpiece sample.
3. Hours to an engineerIn writing. Whether you can get a live engineer on phone or video the same hour, and how many hours to a physical visit at your unit.
4. Spare and head availability in IndiaA head that ships from abroad turns a 2-day fault into a 3-week hole in your plan.
5. Consumable supply and priceInk, film and powder for the next 3 years, from whom, at what price.
6. Output at production passThe number that matters is sqm per hour at the quality you will actually ship, not peak pass.
7. Substrate rangeOne line that runs cotton, polyester, denim, nylon and canvas keeps working when the order book changes.
The part nobody else prices in

What happens the day the machine stops?

Support starts on the call, not on the visit. Ring us in working hours and an engineer takes your operator through it live, on phone or on video, while the machine is in front of him. Most stoppages clear on that call. When it needs hands on the machine, an engineer travels: 24 to 48 hours, same day or next day in metro and tier 1 cities, up to 3 days for remote locations, from a team of 48 people across 11 cities.

01

Live phone and video support

Call in working hours and an engineer diagnoses it with you on the spot, over phone or video. For a unit with a shipment tomorrow, even 24 hours is too long to wait, so the first fix attempt happens now.

02

Engineer on site in 24 to 48 hours

For anything the call cannot fix. Same or next day in metro and tier 1 cities. Up to 3 days remote. 48 people across 11 cities.

03

Daily nozzle test on WhatsApp

Your operator sends a nozzle test to our group every morning. We catch a clogged head before it becomes a stopped machine.

04

Sampling before handover

We install the machine and run your own designs on your own material, so you see the real output before you sign off.

05

Spares and consumables in India

Ink, film, powder, heads and spare parts stay in stock here. Buying the machine in India means you can keep running it in India.

06

One team for every machine

DTF, TPU label, embroidery and flocking are all supported by the same engineers on the same terms. You do not chase 4 suppliers.

Straight answers

Questions buyers like you ask us

Is DTF printing good enough for export garment orders?

It depends on your buyer's test protocol, and the only honest answer comes from your own wash test. Send us your base fabric and your artwork. We print it at our Ludhiana centre and send the piece back so your QA runs the buyer's wash count at the buyer's temperature. Do not accept a durability claim you have not tested on your own fabric, from us or from anyone.

How many pieces a day can one DTF line produce?

Output is measured in square metres, not pieces, so it depends on your print size. A 600 mm 6-head line runs 27 sqm per hour at 4 pass. An A4-size chest print is roughly 0.06 sqm, so the arithmetic follows your own design size. Send us your average print size and daily target and we will do the sum with your numbers.

Will in-house printing reduce my dependence on skilled labour?

It moves the skill from the hand to the process. One trained operator runs the line, and the result is written into a press window instead of living in a craftsman's hands. That is the reason manufacturers who cannot hire enough skilled hands still add capacity.

What does a garment printing machine cost in India?

Our range runs from 3 lakh to 16 lakh depending on print width and head count. Ask for the quote together with the delivery time and the document list your bank or NBFC will want.

Can you install at my unit and train my operator?

Our engineer installs the machine at your unit, runs sampling on your own designs and your own material, and trains your operator in the same visit. After handover your operator stays in a WhatsApp group and sends a daily nozzle test.

Ask for price and a sample print

Our sales team calls you back with the price, the delivery time and the document list your bank asks for.

Or send the same details on WhatsApp to 8872188721 and get the reply on that chat.

Send your base fabric and your artwork.

We print it, send the piece back, and your QA runs the buyer's wash test on it.
